Transfer photos and videos from Instagram to Koofr

Use Instagram’s official transfer tool to effortlessly export a copy of all your Instagram photos, videos and stories to Koofr. Your data will be safely stored in your Koofr account as individual files and you will have full control over it. No permanent connection between Instagram and Koofr account is made with this process, your privacy is respected.

How it works?

1Open your Koofr account and click on Connect in the Main menu. Select Instagram from the list.
2You will see a pop-up notifying you of the terms of the transfer. Click on Transfer.
3Choose a profile, if necessary, and whether to transfer a copy of all or just some of the posts and stories you’ve created on Instagram.
4Select Destination or Schedule frequency if you want to back up your photos and videos regularly.
5Choose Koofr as your transfer destination to export a copy of your Instagram data. Click on Connect.
6Log into your Koofr account. Grant Instagram temporary write-only access to your Koofr account.
7Click on Start/Confirm transfer. Then, re-enter your Instagram password, if necessary.
8A folder named Data Transfer will appear in your Koofr account with all your exported data.
9Sit back and relax. You will receive an Instagram notification and an email when your transfer is finished.

You can save your photos and videos also directly from Instagram. In that case, Open your Instagram account and open Settings. Select Accounts Center > Your information and permissions > Transfer a copy of your information and follow the above steps.

When I give Instagram permission to access my Koofr account what exactly does that mean?

It means that Instagram will be able to upload new files and create new folders in your Koofr account for your posts and stories transfer. As soon as the transfer is finished Instagram's permissions will expire.
If you scheduled regular updates, Instagram will continue save your posts and stories with selected frequency. The permission will still be valid.

When does Instagram's permission to access my Koofr account expire?

Where in my Koofr account can I find posts and stories transferred from Instagram?

You can find your data in the Data Transfer folder in your Koofr account, which contains files from both Facebook and Instagram.

What happens if I run out of space in my Koofr account during the transfer of my files?

As a special bonus from us, we will allow you to store up to 15 GB more Instagram posts and videos than your Koofr account quota. If you go more than 15 GB over the quota of your Koofr account, the transfer from Instagram will fail. You’ll see an error notification appear in your Instagram account.

What can I do when I run out of space in my Koofr account?

You can upgrade your Koofr account to acquire more space. Sign in to Koofr and Upgrade your account. Choose your desired plan and follow the necessary steps.

Can I choose which posts and stories I want to transfer as copies, or will the tool automatically transfer a copy of all my posts and stories?

You can choose whether to transfer a copy of all or just some of the posts and stories you’ve created on Instagram.

Can I transfer a copy of the posts and stories I'm tagged in?

No, you cannot transfer posts and stories created by others where you’re tagged.

Can I transfer both of my posts and my stories at the same time?

Yes, you can start the transfer of both at the same time, posts and stories or choose to transfer only one.

What happens if I transfer my posts or stories more than once?

If you transfer all your posts and stories more than once, the tool will duplicate all your posts and stories into your Data Transfer folder. You can find duplicate files with Koofr duplicate file finder. If you've already transferred your posts and stories to Koofr previously, when re-transferring, select the appropriate download period for posts and stories that haven't been transferred to Koofr yet.

For example, during the initial transfer, you transferred all posts and stories from 01.01.2014 to 01.01.2024. When you want to transfer your posts and stories again, choose to transfer only those not yet transferred to Koofr, based on the selected time period. In our case, from 02.01.2024 up to the date of re-transferring.

Where can I find the description of my Instagram photos and videos in Koofr?

Open the Data Transfer folder in your Koofr account. Select a photo/video and click on the More button in the Editing Menu in the web app or tap on the Info button in your mobile app.
